As everyone with an internet connection knows, we are getting slammed with snow here in DC this weekend. Some people’s parents might have been worried about their electricity going out or running out of groceries, but my dad’s only question was, “Do you have enough books to read?” Don’t worry, Dad. My weekend will mostly… Continue reading to read in 2016

what i read in 2015

Last year, I set a Goodreads challenge to complete 52 books in 2015 — averaging a book a week. And I made it! I did not complete my Modern Mrs. Darcy reading challenge, but hey, I was a late adopter. So what did I read in 2015? The books that I really enjoyed or that have… Continue reading what i read in 2015

Hi, I'm Brigid! I never forget a dog, listen to a million podcasts, and try to read too many books at the same time. Come hang out!

What I'm Seeing

Five puppies and a bunch of babies attended @hellotmo's birthday party, and really, what more do you need?
Dancing with an enthusiastic four-year-old and being paparazzi-ed by a teen boy on his 16th birthday (because he just ADORES making friends with little kids) makes even a rainy day with a clutch of tiny disasters feel like a gift.
Wintry idyll.
Buckle up for a weird one: Possible captions: 1. When your post-workout "glow" matches the paint color. 2. New Year, Same RBF. 3. I am so grateful to @305fitness for a super welcoming environment for my first class since they were over at Bodysmith eons ago. It's really easy to feel like a random body in the room, especially in January(!), but their staff (shout out Stephanie) made me feel so welcome and unflustered even though I ran in right as class was starting (because I was having too long of a chat at the Dorothy Day House). I so rarely feel "cared for" in my day-to-day, and these two seemingly disparate places both made me feel so special today with simple gestures like making me tea and cleaning up my mug and filling up my water bottle for me while I put my shoes on. And yes, while I rarely post twice in a day or even two days in a row, this long-winded caption should prove the second photo true: New Year, Same Bitch. And if you want to join me at @305fitness or at the Catholic Workers... Just let a girl know. xoxo gossip girl
Just another normal day in my normal classroom.
