Do you need a little pick me up? Same.

  1. The sweet thud of a Bundt cake coming evenly out of its pan.
  2. Waking up from a good night of sleep and realizing that you had a good night of sleep.
  3. A new bud on a plant you thought was dead.
  4. Hearing a song for the first time and just knowing that it’s going to be your new jam.
  5. Receiving an unexpected but wholly welcome phone call.
  6. Receiving an unexpected but wholly welcome invitation.
  7. A sports Cinderella
  8. …and your team is the Cinderella.
  9. Long movies that feel short.
  10. Rereading a favorite book.
  11. Noticing that an acquaintance is becoming a friend.
  12. Getting away with something slightly devious.
  13. Being able to say “Already done!” when asked about a task.
  14. Shower cries.
  15. Shower beers.
  16. Getting out of a rainstorm without getting wet.
  17. Being soaked in a rainstorm and not caring.
  18. Reading an excellent poem that cuts right to your heart.
  19. YouTube compilation videos.
  20. Having a crush on someone entirely inappropriate.
  21. Having a crush on someone who also has a crush on you.
  22. Trying to be funny and getting a laugh.
  23. Not even trying to be funny and getting a laugh.
  24. Being complimented on something new.
  25. Being complimented on an old favorite.
  26. Stepping into sand.
  27. Sinking into bed when your whole body is tired.
  28. A glass of wine alone.
  29. A glass of wine with your family.
  30. Booking airfare.
  31. Getting home from a long trip.
  32. Thanksgiving.
  33. Fireworks.
  34. Lakes.
  35. A long run on a misty day.
  36. A long run on a sunny day.
  37. Snuggling with a soft and sleepy dog.
  38. Smelling a baby.
  39. A slice from a fresh loaf of bread with cold butter.
  40. Unembarrassed dancing.
  41. Childhood photos of someone entirely unchildlike as an adult.
  42. Seeing family resemblance.
  43. The smell of rain on hot pavement.
  44. A new episode of Serial.
  45. Knowing what’s next.
  46. Not knowing what’s next.
  47. Lighting matches.
  48. Pine trees.
  49. Fresh sheets on the bed; fresh sheets of paper.
  50. Coffee.

  1. “Noticing that an acquaintance is becoming a friend…A glass of wine with your family…Smelling a baby…Pine trees” Yes! Made me smile 🙂 I also love Christmas movies on melancholy days…Bread dipped in garlic and olive oil…Warm summer nights at the county fair.
